Ray of Frickin’ Sunshine

I am a ray of frickin’ sunshine.
I smile-scowl all the time.
I stretch to befriend gratitude,
Supposedly to help my attitude.
But a realist once is a realist always,
And I’ll speak my truth ‘til the end of my days.
Sometimes it’s dark and sometimes it’s light—
I’ve learned that both unlock the good life.

So while I smile and laugh a lot,
Don’t mistake me for an optimism ‘bot,
Cuz I’ll smile while I rain on your parade.
The truth can be heavy but I’m not afraid.

Let’s do this together, the sunshine and the cursing.
A vanilla life would surely be the worst thing.
And if I can be a ray of frickin’ sunshine,
Everyone can smile and swear at the same time.
Love is intricately woven paradox,
So enter in—love’s your perfect detox.
It can hold the shit and the glitter too.
That’s the life I ascribe to, how about you?
